Work Methods

Participants participate in 6 years of MERKIS experience that is specifically targeted at improving their communication both inside the team and with the outside world. In each theory-segment the trainer teaches one or two communication skills that participants use as team members in playing the game. The trainer, by observing their behaviour, acquires immediate knowledge of what participants have actually learned and can quickly change his/her teaching accordingly.

In the game, scenario specific communication problems occur that can be solved only with the help of the learned skills. At the start of each game "year", participants set specific personal communication goals and the MERKIS system supports them in reaching them. Also trainers, peers and third party feedback is targeted towards communication and thus participants can improve their performance on a year-to-year basis.
